Some of you may wonder when I add new plugins to the Plugin Index, or utilities, downloads, ImagesByName packs…anything really.  There’s quite a lot to keep track of, so I understand it’s not feasible to scour multiple pages on a daily basis.

I just wanted to make a quick note that my Twitter notifications only include new or edited posts and pages.  So, if I add anything, it will send a Tweet with a direct link to the page.  All that’s left is to look for the most recently dated item.

To avoid future (and present) clutter on the IBN Project page, I decided to break out each individual IBN category into their own page.  As files continue to get added, the page was just going to continue to grow out of control, so I think this will be a much easier way to find what you’re looking for.

You can now browse through the sections (People, Genre, Studio, Year, General and Box Sets) using the menu at the top of each page.  The main page is for link landings and to promote the actor image project.

The plugin index will probably follow suit as that page is ridiculously long.

Also, there was an update to DemonSeed and Big Arrick Son’s Box Set collection.  31 new images were added to all three box set types (they are also in their galleries).  Check them out!

In case you don’t follow me on Twitter, you may not have seen that I have updated the ImagesByName page a couple of times today.  I’ve added a new Studio package (updated to 1.1) and added a package of Year icons created by Tikuf.  More coming soon!

By the way, the post above is supposed to be stuck.  We need contributors!  I won’t leave it there too long though.

Thanks to Bill W., we are going to receive an actors update that surpasses that of even our base package.  As of right now, there will be an update that will include 8,103 actor images.  I’m going to wait until the end of the week for any new submissions and then I may post it by Friday.

While compiling this update, there was a question that arose that I wanted to ask those of you that are downloading it.  It can be a touchy subject and I don’t want to step into any areas that may involve legal ramifications, so I am going to simply post a poll and let you all make the decision for me.

You see, it would be naive (and false) to assume everyone that uses Media Browser and the ImagesByName packages is 18 years of age or older.  That makes including nude images in any of the packages a cause for concern considering the popularity of the project.  All it takes is for one aware parent/guardian to blow a whistle and cause us some problems.

Personally, it doesn’t bother me.  I don’t have any films that would cause these images to be displayed and if I did, well, I probably wouldn’t be concerned to begin with.  However, if they are going to be included, there will need to be disclaimers prompting for acceptance in place to allow for downloading them.  I just need to find out if it’s worth the trouble.

So, please, voice your opinion in the poll above and I will see if it is something that can be maintained.

I’ve just uploaded an update to the ImagesByName actors.  It includes 292 new actor images and is about 10MB in size.  You can get it in the Downloads section.  Mirror will be available soon.

I also want to say that the ImagesByName Subfolder Project on the Media Browser forums may soon be hosted here.  They have been doing a terrific job as of late creating, collecting and organizing images for all ImagesByName subfolders.  However, it appears that my modest little actors package is the one that gets most of the link-backs from the more popular sites, so I decided to reach out to them in hopes of hosting their packages here where they may get a much wider audience (while giving you many more options).

Check back often as things materialize on that front…I may have to create a new dedicated page for that project if it gets off the ground.
