WHS\unRAID users…nice add-in here.

Posted by Jon | Windows Home Server | Monday 28 December 2009 9:08 am

Although I could not get it to work properly (I will say I did not have time to fiddle much with it either though), I came across a nice-looking WHS add-in before I took a break that some of you fellow unRAID users may be interested in.  This add-in, basically, can monitor and control many of the most important features of unRAID…right from the WHS console.  It even ties into the clean shutdown script.  If you’re interested, take a look over at the unRAID forum thread about it…I’ve included screenshots (courtesy of Tom) below.

unRAID 4.5 beta 13 released.

Posted by Jon | HTPC | Friday 4 December 2009 3:50 pm

Tom says this will ultimately become the 4.5 Final if no major bugs are found between now and Monday.  I’m going to wait until Monday since there isn’t a drastic change between this and b12.

unRAID 4.5 beta 12 released!

Posted by Jon | HTPC | Tuesday 1 December 2009 4:07 pm

This release addresses many of the situations where playback is interrupted when various types of other external access to the unRAID server occurs.  I experience this myself and can’t wait to see if it is finally resolved.

You can read the detailed release notes and download it here.

unRAID 4.5 beta7 released.

Posted by Jon | HTPC | Wednesday 14 October 2009 4:54 pm

It’s been 5 long months since the last release of any kind for us unRAID users, but two days ago beta 7 made its way on the download block.  From the unRAID forum, this is what is included/fixed with this release:

Changes from 4.5-beta6 to 4.5-beta7
-----------------------------------

Bug fixes:
- If 'config/style.css' is not present, then don't tell browser to load it.
- Fixed kernel crash when number of drives > 17, now correctly supports up to 20 drives ('Pro' issue only).

Other changes:
- Prevent disks appearing 'unformatted' as a result of incomplete Stop Array operation.
- Add driver for Adaptec 2410SA PCI RAID card (untested).
- Upgrade linux kernel to 2.6.30.8
- Upgrade samba to 3.3.7
- Upgrade fuse to 2.8.1

You can download it directly from here, or take it easy on Tom and grab the torrent here.
