Prestashop took a backseat to Joomla!/VirtueMart. After getting more time to really use a variety of e-commerce packages, most just fell short on what was available in the lines of free add-ons and templates. VirtueMart and Joomla! both have huge amounts of free add-ons available and I'm finding it to not be as difficult to setup as I first thought. It'll take some time, but I think I'll be able to go further with it.

Just an FYI on prestashop. good luck on the shipping module and a payment module with credit card support (i.e. authorize.net). Prestashop may be a great e-commerce package one day but without packaged support for just those two options mentioned its going to be rough for a first timer, IMO. Too bad there is a total lack of support on their forums for those modules also. Good luck.

Hey buddy,

If you don't want to deal with all the hosting/admin issues consider using a Yahoo Store. It's not free (~35-45/mon), but it has all you might ever need, including inventory management, secure shopping card with SSL certificate, reports, and tons of other stuff. You just have to come up with your UI.

That's what my wife is using for her kids clothing store. Need some merchandise to sell? Let me know. ;)
