Why I’m not a movie critic.

I’m bored, so I decided to share what I’ve watched lately – both in theater and at home (in no certain order).  This will also show you exactly why I am not a movie critic.  Or, maybe, why I’m the greatest movie critic of all time.

Theater

Shrek Forever After in RealD – Great!  My first RealD 3D movie.  The 3D really did “wow” me – my 5-year old too.

Toy Story 3 – Unfortunately, did not get to see this in 3D.  Best of the trilogy.

The Last Airbender in RealD – Worst acting I’ve ever seen in theater.  Non-existent 3D effects.  Waste of money.

Home

Hot Tub Time Machine – Funny, but got old.  Haven’t actually finished it and probably won’t.

Clash of the Titans (2010) – I don’t like Sam Worthington and he was a crappy choice for Perseus.  Pretty decent remake, nonetheless (huge fan of the original 1981 film).

Green Zone – Disappointed.  I make it a point to see every Matt Damon film that comes out…watchable, but I got bored.

District B13 (Banlieue 13) – The first 20 minutes make this one worthwhile if you’re an action fan.

The Book of Eli – Pretty good.  Denzel kicks some ass.

Alice in Wonderland (2010) – Depp is awesome.  That was about it for me.

This weekend I’ll be going to catch the new Nolan flick, Inception, with my wife.  Looking forward to that one.

Agree with everything you stated on the one’s I’ve seen (most of those). Green Zone bored the hell out of me. Love Matt Damon movies, but during Green Zone, my 5 year old interrupted me to help her with something (I was about 25 minutes into), and I never went back to finish it. Never heard of District B13, will check it out.

As far as Airbender, my kid and I are huge fans of the animated series and I cannot BELIEVE the reviews for this live action movie. I think there are only a few hundred people in the world that might have liked this flick. I haven’t seen it myself, but am VERY disappointed that it turned out so badly. Inception does look very cool. Let us know :)

Yeh…Avatar is an awesome series…M.N.S. absolutely ruined it. Of course, my oldest loved it, but I expected him to.
