Salami’s Movie Organizer has been a great little application for us Media Browser users for a while now. However, there seems to be a lack of interest by its developer to add any new functionality to it…only to keep it working. I can’t argue with that as Media Browser tends to do more and more on its own with each new release. However, there are still a few things it cannot do and that still require some manual intervention to make everything “perfect”. Things such as metadata editing, MPAA ratings, specific artwork, actor/genre editing, etc. SMO can’t really do these things either, so we’re all left to manually sifting through hundreds of XML, JPG and PNG files so we can suit our own tastes.
However, there appears to be a helping hand on the horizon and its name is MetaBrowser. I have not had an inside look at it, although I did message the developer in hopes of getting an early look at it so I could share my experience. Maybe I’ll get something to put out before its release, but it appears that a beta will be released very soon. Anyway, I’m excited about it, so head on over to the above link and check it out.
