Is your HTPC ready for cableCARD?

With retail cableCARDs on the horizon, you should be asking yourself, “Is my HTPC cableCARD ready?”

Microsoft has recently released a utility to help determine that for you.  Head over to Extras in your Media Center’s Start Menu.

Once in the Extras Gallery, you will see the Digital Cable Adviser entry.

Select that and then follow the next few screens to allow for installation and testing.  Once complete, you will receive the results of the assessment that will either pass you or fail you (with cause, such as insufficient memory or CPU).
