HDMI Detective Plus, arriving on scene.

By | September 25, 2013

Despite a recent post on the matter, I still gave in and decided to purchase a Gefen HDMI Detective Plus to solve my HDMI handshake issues, once and for all.  That’s not to say that the guide I provided won’t work, “once and for all”, for you.  It’s just that I have a house full of users that insist on putting the Harmony remote down before it gets a chance to complete the activity cycle, resulting in problems that no guide is actually going to fix.  So, for the living room, it only makes sense to put that device in place so that it’s never encountered again…no matter who is using the TV.

Fact is, I may no longer have the convenience of being able to remote in from work to fix problems like that anymore, so I figure it’s best to just nip it in the bud permanently.  Hopefully, it will do the trick and it won’t be something to worry about anymore.  It’s supposed to arrive by Friday, so I’ll have something to say about it early next week.  Check back then to read about it!

I got it installed Friday evening and, so far, you’re exactly right. Not a single hitch over the course of the weekend.
