I’m a day late, so sue me. Lime-Technology has released the long awaited unRAID final release version 4.4. Aside from a new kernel build and some bug fixes, there were a few notable features added. One of these include additional user share contaiment strings which restrict files created within a ‘stringed’ folder to only be placed within the folder of the disk it was created on. For those that are familiar with unRAID user shares, this will be a welcomed addition, indeed. Previously, any time a DVD rip (VIDEO_TS, not an image) was placed on a user share, that share may be spread out across multiple drives, depending on the share mode. Now, an identifying string placed within brackets will ensure all recursive files will stay where they are intended to be.
Some other additions of note (going back through some 4.3 beta additions also) include WINS server assignment (I use it at home, so this is great for me), individual disk spindown configuration and SMP support.
