I’ve not tried a build in a week or so, so I don’t know what’s been going on since then. You can read release details here. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to give it a good run over the long weekend.

I just finished uploading file2folder GUI v1.2.
In this release:
- Auto-complete when manually entering directory location.
- Automatic (on launch) and manual update check (“About” submenu). You may need to allow file2folder GUI in your firewall for this to work (simple http request only).
- Fixed exclusion of system files. Hidden files was working, but not system. Also added exclusion for the file2foldergui.exe itself. Still broken except for hidden files.
- Moved the “Save log” option to the “File” menu.
I think that’s it, but they should all be worthwhile improvements. Please use the Google Code site for reporting bugs or requesting new features. Comments are always welcome here :)

Update:
Looks like early downloaders will get a chance to try out the auto-update check. v1.21 has been posted and fixes the hidden/system file issue. I will exclude the file2foldergui.exe file later on.

I am not a programmer, so be gentle with me (which means, don’t laugh). I have been playing around with Visual Basic 2010 Express a little and decided to try my hand at making the file2folder script a real application. I thought it would be a very good project to learn with since it has quite a few possibilities…all of which I hope I can implement over time.

Things will be slow here for bit…we had a little monkey thrown into our gears yesterday afternoon. Luclily, I got her out before she did any real damage.
We decided to keep her :)
